Who We Are:
The Football Parents Association at Ohio State, (FPAOS), founded in 2003, promotes communication among parents, coaching staff and administrators. Supports and assists in football related events and activities designed to improve the quality of the Buckeye experience. Partners with the football program and Ohio State University to enrich the lives of our sons on and off the field.
Our Mission:
Our mission is to be both a source and resource for families of The Ohio State Football Program! To create and encourage positive family environment; and build parental and team relationships within the university and its surrounding communities. Our goal is to help create fond and lasting memories! Along with, lessons that will remain with both parents and their student-athletes for a lifetime. As such, we seek to find ways that will connect and celebrate families and the team. The Football Parents Association at Ohio State is the way we establish and maintain that connection.
Our Objectives:
- Promote communication among parents/guardians, coaching staff and administrators to support and assist football related events and activities designed to improve the quality of the Buckeye experience.
- Engage parents in a range of activities to increase the opportunity for families to interact and connect with each other. Create a parent affinity to partner with the team, coaching staff, administrators, and the University
- Design events that partner with Ohio State University Football staff to heighten awareness of compliance activities and educate parents/guardians on what is allowed.
- Promote community service opportunities that support and connect the Family Unit to create a positive connection to the surrounding community.
- Assist incoming families with the process of college football and supporting them during the transition.
- Be an energetic resource and support group to football families though tailgates, prayer gate, travel accommodations, and celebrating the success of our student-athletes on and off the field including honoring our seniors parents with an appreciation event.
Community Outreach:
- FPAOS is committed to giving back to the Columbus community – a place where our sons spend a few special years of their lives as members of THE Ohio State University Football team. For the past several years, FPAOS has collected new backpacks for children in need that attend Columbus City Schools.
- For the past several years, we have collected over (200) new backpacks that were donated to a local charity called After-School All-Stars Ohio. They are a chapter of a national organization that provides free comprehensive out-of-school programs for children living in underserved communities and offers children academic help, mentoring, health & fitness, and transformative opportunities. ASAS Ohio partnered with a local school that filled our backpacks with shelf stable food items before they were distributed to the children.
